Discover Victoria Fragoso
Victoria Fragoso, a piano-based artist, appeals to fans of Vanessa Carlton, Ben Folds, and Regina Spektor. Her diverse musical influences include her Hispanic heritage, classical piano training, church choir harmonies, and musical theater background. Victoria's vocals are rich, with an emotional and distinct quality. Her music and social media content feature refreshing singer-songwriter material that is honest and heartfelt.
With over fifteen years of open-mic experience, Victoria's craft made its way from the coffeehouse into the clouds with her first digital release “This River”, a five song EP, in 2019. This push to produce her songs came after experiencing her daughter's premature birth at five weeks early and less than four pounds. The strength of her daughter at such a young age helped her overcome fears of sharing her art.
Victoria's self-produced work continues to reflect her raw ambition and talent through genre-fluid compositions and thoughtful lyrics. Her degree in Creative Writing from Chapman University in Southern California and a passion for special effects makeup have allowed her to showcase creative artistry and imaginative storytelling through her online content and music videos.
Six months into the pandemic, Victoria reunited with old friends to perform her material on live stream shows. Today, Victoria (or "Toya", as family and friends call her), continues to grow her audience and foster community by bringing awareness to other talented artists and musicians. You can catch her hosting a live talk show called “Tuesday with Toya” weekly on Instagram (@toyamakesmusic) where she plays keys and ukulele in addition to interviewing independent artists.
Her latest release “Don't Give Up on Christmas” is an original Christmas song. In this final release of the year, she sings to those who have lost hope in the spirit of Christmas. Throughout 2022 she was inspired by the 60's/70's practice of releasing a two-sided single record. Her previous release "What Keeps You Wanting More" featured the title track as side A and "Worth the Fight" as side B, where you can hear her continuous focus on exploring genres and improving her sound. You can experience her music in person as she translates her music from the “cloud” to live venues in the rainy state of Washington, including McMenamins in Tacoma, Seattle winery Sleight of Hand Cellars and Cascade Music Alliance events, Thursday nights at the Mill.
